Frequently Asked Questions

Understanding our client’s energy procurement goals through trusting, long-term relationships.

Q: What does it mean if you are located in a deregulated state?
A: Customers located in deregulated states have the option to shop their electricity and natural gas supply competitively.

Q: What is energy deregulation?
A: Many US states have passed laws deregulating the sale of electricity and natural gas supply. Energy deregulation allows customers to purchase their electricity and/or natural gas supply from a competitive supplier.

Q: How can Affinity Energy save me money on my utility bills?
A: Affinity Energy can review your bills to see if there are savings available by shopping your electricity and natural gas supply competitively.

Q: What happens when I switch suppliers?
A: Switching suppliers is a relatively seamless process. Your local utility will still deliver your electricity and/or natural gas but you will be buying your energy supply at a cheaper rate. Your local utility is still responsible for billing and restoring service after an outage and there is no impact on your electric reliability.

Q: How will I know how much money Affinity Energy can save me on my utility bills?
A: Once we review your recent energy bills, we can provide an estimate of how much you will be able to save if you choose to work with us.

Q: If I own more than one property with an electric or gas meter, can I get everything under one contract?
A: Generally, yes. However, you are not allowed to combine accounts across multiple states in most cases as they are served by different utilities. There are exceptions to this rule.

Q: How does Affinity get compensated?
A: There are no upfront or out of pocket fees for our services. Affinity collects a broker fee directly from the winning supplier providing customers the convenience of not having to pay additional invoices.
